We Are Central to Defence

Central Queensland is uniquely positioned to contribute to the strategic objectives and transformation of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) thanks to the Shoalwater Bay Training Area, existing seaports (Port of Gladstone and Port of Rockhampton) and airports (Rockhampton Airport and Gladstone Airport), availability of industrial and commercial land, skilled workforce, and positioning at the Gateway to the Pacific.

Central to Defence (CTD) is a collaborative partnership between CQ’s three most populous Local Governments (Gladstone Regional Council, Livingstone Shire Council and Rockhampton Regional Council) and Regional Development Australia Central and Western Queensland.
